Learning goal: To practice accurate measurement and baking techniques.
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tbsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
Directions
Beat butter and sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Blend in egg and vanilla, mix well.
In a separate bowl, stir together flour, salt and baking soda.
Mix dry ingredients into sugar mixture using a wooden spoon until well blended.
Place in fridge for 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350.
Roll out dough on lightly floured surface to 5 mm thickness.
Cut into different shapes with cookie cutters.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 5-8 minutes or until cookies are
barely browned
on the edges.
Place on a cooling rack.
